James Murray
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
I’m a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Washington and California. For 15+ years I’ve helped people find steadier ground when life feels uncertain or relationships feel strained. My goal is to create a space where you can slow down, be honest, and start building the tools and perspective that help you move forward.

I work closely with couples who are struggling to reconnect—whether it’s through rebuilding trust after an affair, working through conflict, or simply feeling distant from one another. I also support teens and families navigating social pressures, communication challenges, and the growing impact of technology on daily life. My time working within school systems gives me unique insight into 504 and IEP processes, helping families better advocate for their children’s needs.

Beyond relationships and family work, I help athletes, coaches, and professionals in high-pressure roles strengthen their mental resilience, manage stress, and achieve greater balance. My approach is collaborative and practical; we’ll set clear goals together and use strategies that fit your life, so you leave each session with something you can actually use.
Education and Certifications
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, am a clinical member of AAMFT and CAMFT, and have taught Clinical Psychology courses at Antioch University.

My Approach
I believe in a holistic and client-centered approach to clinical talk therapy. Each individual and couple has unique needs, and I tailor our sessions to address those specific needs. My philosophy is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and empowerment, and I'm committed to providing a non-judgmental space where clients can explore their challenges then work towards healing and resilience. The aim is to alleviate symptoms, improve daily functioning, resolve problems, and build skills for coping with future challenges.
